Meet the 188 Cobra Squadron Staff !
The squadron staff is a team of Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) officers, Civilian Instructors (CI) and Civilian Volunteers (CV). As members of the CIC, they belong to the Cadet Organization Administration and Training Service (COATS), which is a sub-component of the Canadian Forces Reserves. The staff at 188 Cobra are specifically tasked with the supervision, administration and training of cadets. Staff have full time day jobs while they dedicate their evenings, weekends and vacation days to the development of the youth under their care. All our adult staff are trained and screened to work with youth.

Administration
Ontario Health Card - All cadets are to carry their Ontario Health Card on their person at all times during cadet activities.
CADET365 - All cadets are to be on CADET365 for access to all important communication and forms within our squadron. If you do not have your login credentials or are having issues logging in, contact Lt Mrasek or CI Owusu for any further assistance.
Training

Optional Training Interest Form - Cadets are to fill out the Optional Training Interest Form to allow for early organizational plans for our offered optional training teams. Sign up here. Registration deadline is 19 September 2025.
Marksmanship/Biathlon Team Tryout - There will be a Marksmanship and Biathlon Team tryout on 21 September 2025 at Denison Armoury. The tryout will run from 1230-1500hrs. Dress of the day is civilian attire. Contact Lt Nguyen for any further questions.
Drill With Arms Team Tryout - There will be a Drill With Arms Team tryout on 21 September 2025 at Denison Armoury. The tryout will run from 1530-1700hrs. Dress of the day is civilian attire. Contact CI Owusu for any further questions.
Drill Without Arms Team Tryout - There will be a Drill Without Arms Team tryout on 21 September 2025 at Denison Armoury. The tryout will run from 1700-1830hrs. Dress of the day is civilian attire. Contact CI Owusu for any further questions.
Tag Days – 25-28 September 2025 is Tag Days! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds go towards squadron expenses such as lunches for optional training days, additional field training exercises beyond required training, Annual Cadet Ball, band equipment rentals, etc. Dress is C3. All cadets are required to complete a minimum of two (2) shifts. Shift schedules are as follows:

Field Training Exercise (FTX) – The squadron will be conducting a field training exercise (FTX) on the weekend of 03-05 October 2025 at Blackdown Cadet Training Centre. This is an overnight activity. This activity is open to all cadets. Cadets are to meet at Denison Armoury, Trailer B for 1815hrs on 03 October 2025. Buses will return for 1500hrs on 05 October 2025. Meals will be provided starting with Saturday breakfast. Dress for the weekend is C5 - Field Training Uniform (FTUs). Cadets interested in participating are to sign up here. Registration deadline is 26 September 2025.
Gliding – The squadron will be going gliding on 13 October 2025 at CFB Borden. There are 25 spots available. Cadets are to arrive at Denison Armoury Trailer B for 1030hrs and will be dismissed for 1730hrs. Lunch will be provided. Dress of the day is civilian attire. Cadets interested in participating are to sign up here. Registration deadline is 29 September 2025.
CAF Engagement Activity – 188 Cobra Squadron will be participating in a Tri-Elemental Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Engagement activity at Winona Ranges on 19 October 2025. This activity is open to all cadets. Cadets are to arrive at Denison Armoury for 0700hrs. Buses will return for 1715hrs. Lunch will be provided. Dress of the day is C5 - Field Training Uniform (FTU). Cadets interested in participating are to sign up here. Registration deadline is 26 September 2025.
