The squadron staff is a team of Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) officers, Civilian Instructors (CI) and Civilian Volunteers (CV). As members of the CIC, they belong to the Cadet Organization Administration and Training Service (COATS), which is a sub-component of the Canadian Forces Reserves. The staff at 188 Cobra are specifically tasked with the supervision, administration and training of cadets. Staff have full time day jobs while they dedicate their evenings, weekends and vacation days to the development of the youth under their care. All our adult staff are trained and screened to work with youth.

Administration
Ontario Health Card - All cadets are to carry their Ontario Health Card on their person at all times during cadet activities.
CADET365 - All cadets are to be on CADET365 for access to all important communication and forms within our squadron. If you do not have your login credentials or are having issues logging in, contact Lt Mrasek or CI Owusu for any further assistance.
Training

Winter Sport Ski Day - The squadron will be conducting a Cross-Country Ski Day on 21 February 2026 at Highlands Nordic. This activity is open to all cadets, with a maximum of 55 participants. The sign-up form will remain open until 14 February or until all spots are filled. Dress of the day is appropriate civilian attire. Skiing equipment will be provided. Cadets are to arrive at Denison Armoury Trailer B for 0715hrs and will be dismissed for 1730hrs. Lunch will be provided. Contact Lt Nguyen on Microsoft Teams for any further questions. National Ground School Program - Registration for NGSP is closed. Completion of the NGSP is a prerequisite to apply for the Glider Pilot Training Course (GPTC) or Power Pilot Training Course (PPTC). The online program starts on 1 November 2025 to 31 January 2026, with ten weeks of live lessons and one week for review. Qualifying exams will occur on 4 February 2026 from 1830-2000hrs at Denison Armoury. CAT3 Medicals must be submitted no later than 15 May 2026. Gliding - The squadron will be going gliding on 14 March 2026 at CFD Mountain View. There are 10 spots available. Sign-up will be open until 07 March or when ten (10) cadets have confirmed signed up. Dress of the day is appropriate civilian attire. Cadets are to arrive at Denison Armoury Trailer B for 0630hrs and will be dismissed for 1830hrs. Lunch will be provided. Effective Speaking and Debate - The Effective Speaking and Debate Team will be practicing between 1045-1200hrs at Denison Armoury. Dress of the day is appropriate civilian attire. Marksmanship Team - The Marksmanship Team will be practicing on Sundays between 1200-1500hrs at Denison Armoury. Dress of the day is appropriate civilian attire. Refer to the calendar for any practice cancellations. Contact Lt Nguyen on Microsoft Teams for any further questions.
Sports Team – This year, the sports team will incorporate Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Badminton! All cadets are welcome to come out for sports on Sundays between 1400-1530hrs at Denison Armoury. Dress is appropriate civilian attire. Refer to the calendar for any practice cancellations. Drill With Arms Team Practice - The Drill With Arms Team will be practicing on Sundays between 1530-1700hrs at Denison Armoury. Drill Without Arms Team Practice - The Drill Without Arms Team will be practicing on Sundays between 1700-1830hrs at Denison Armoury.
